“Why We Need To See People In 3D”

(from Living Life For Others – Book Three by Bill Loveless)Main Purpose of the LessonThe most important reason to see others through the eyes of Christ (in 3D — past externals to the heart) is to love them with agape love — the exact same love Christ has for us.1. Love Is Our Highest Objective
- The two greatest commandments end with “Love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:37-40).
- Our greatest calling is not just to be disciples or messengers — we are called to be lovers of God and of others.
- “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another” (John 13:35).
2. Why Loving Others Is God’s Top Priority
- Love is greater than faith and hope (1 Corinthians 13:13).
- Everything we do must be done in love (1 Corinthians 16:14).
- The goal of all teaching and sharing truth is love from a pure heart (1 Timothy 1:5; Ephesians 4:15).
- All the fruit of the Spirit flows out of love (Galatians 5:22).
3. Three Types of Love

Level of Relationship

Characteristics
|
|---|---|---|---|
|
Philostorgos
|
Family love
|
Spouse, children, close family
|
Human, strong bonds
|
|
Philia
|
General human love
|
Friends, co-workers, strangers
|
Human, care & compassion
|
|
Agape
|
Divine love (God’s love)
|
Everyone (equal)
|
Perfect, unconditional, sacrificial, selfless

Key distinction: Philostorgos and Philia are human, subjective, and conditional.
Agape love is divine — it loves everyone equally, regardless of closeness or how they treat you.4. Powerful Truths About Agape Love
- Loves regardless — no conditions, no expectations, no limitations, no selfish motives.
- Is the “no-excuse” love — unforgiveness, rejection, woundedness, unmet expectations are never valid reasons not to love.
- Carries immense power — can penetrate hearts, soften hearts, free people from bondage, heal wounds, unlock deep sharing, and transform lives.
- Makes you unrejectable, unoffendable, and impenetrable.
- Is an unstoppable force — nothing and no one can stop Christ’s love flowing through you.
- Draws people to Christ in you (2 Corinthians 5:20).
5. The Freedom Connection
- You must first be set free FROM fleshly behaviors (judging, criticizing, comparing, taking offense, holding unforgiveness, unrealistic expectations) before you can be free TO love others.
- Freedom = A loving heart.
Core TakeawaySeeing people in 3D (through Christ’s eyes) is not just about understanding them better — it is the essential pathway to loving them with God’s own agape love, which is:
- God’s highest priority,
- the most powerful force in ministry,
- and the clearest proof that we are Christ’s disciples.
