The meeting of Grace Christian Church. We meet in person and stream services every Sunday at 10:30 AM EST in Manalapan, New Jersey.
Every year at Easter we celebrate Jesus Christ’s resurrection from the dead. Because He rose, every believer receives three powerful resurrection realities:
New Birth • New Life • New PowerWhy the Resurrection Matters
New Birth • New Life • New PowerWhy the Resurrection Matters
- If Christ has not been raised, our preaching is vain, our faith is vain, and we are still in our sins (1 Corinthians 15:14, 17).
- The enemy tries to debunk the resurrection and hide what believers have in Christ (our identity, authority, and life under the New Covenant of Grace).
- We overcome his lies by standing on the truth of the resurrection.
1. New Birth (1 Peter 1:3–4)
- Through Christ’s resurrection we are born again spiritually.
- We are born into a living hope and an imperishable inheritance reserved in heaven for us.
- Once born again → we cannot be “unborn.” This is our eternal security.
2. New Life (Romans 6:4–5)
- Our old self was co-crucified with Christ.
- Our new self was co-resurrected with Him.
- We now live in newness of life — a new person in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17).
- The power of sin is broken.
- We are no longer under Law, but under Grace (New Covenant).
- Mixing Law and Grace does not work (Mark 2:21–22).
3. New Power (Philippians 3:10)
- We have Christ’s resurrection power living in us — the same power that raised Jesus from the dead.
- Christ is not only our life; He is also our power source.
- We cannot live the Christian life in our own strength. Only Christ can live it in us and through us.
Easter CelebrationWhen we celebrate Easter we are rejoicing in:
- Our New Birth
- Our New Life lived under Grace
- Our Resurrection Power being used by Christ
Bottom line:
The resurrection is not just history — it is the power of our salvation and daily Christian life. Happy Easter!
