Life Ain’t Easy. 3.15.2025. The meeting of Grace Christian Church. We meet in person and stream services every Sunday at 10:30 AM EST in Manalapan, New Jersey.
Thank you for being here during this tough time. I’d like to start with a prayer for God’s comfort, as described in 2 Corinthians 1:3–4. Paul teaches that God comforts us in hard times so we can later help others going through similar struggles.
Difficulties in life often make us wonder why they happen. The story of Job in the Bible shows us that suffering isn’t always a punishment for wrongdoing. Job lost everything—his family, wealth, and health—yet he hadn’t sinned. His friends wrongly blamed him, offering no real comfort. True comfort comes from God, who helps the brokenhearted.
The Bible explains three sources of trials:
1. Consequences of sin – Some hardships result from poor choices, like breaking the law.
2. Demonic attacks – Evil forces can challenge believers to strengthen their reliance on God. Paul faced this but found strength in his weakness through Christ.
3. God’s refining process – Sometimes, trials expose areas where we rely too much on ourselves instead of God. Losing a job, for example, may teach us to trust in God’s provision rather than our own abilities.
No matter the source of your struggle, remember Romans 8:28—God works all things for good for those who love Him. Even when life is painful, God’s ultimate goal is to shape us to be more like Christ.
I encourage you to reflect on what God may be teaching you and seek His guidance in prayer. If you have questions or need further support, let’s meet again. I’ll continue praying for your comfort and understanding.
