Born of God – Merry Christmas!

The true meaning of Christmas is often overshadowed by commercialization and cultural shifts, just as Charlie Brown lamented in the classic 1965 movie. Today, many have forgotten or even resist acknowledging that Christmas celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ.

The Purpose of Christ’s Birth

Jesus was born into this world for a profound reason: to die for humanity’s sins, rise from the dead, and offer eternal life to those who believe in Him. The Bible tells us this through stories like Joseph’s dream in Matthew 1:21, where an angel declared that Jesus would save people from their sins.

Christians Share the Spirit of Christmas

As followers of Christ, we are called to share this good news, just as Philip did in Acts 8. Christmas traditions and memories bring joy, but the ultimate focus should remain on Jesus’ divine purpose.

Jesus: Fully God and Fully Human

Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit, merging divine and human nature. As Philippians 2:5-8 explains, He humbled Himself to become human and obedient to death on the cross, fulfilling His mission to save humanity.

Christians Born of God

Like Jesus, believers are also “born of God,” though not physically conceived by the Spirit. Instead, the Holy Spirit dwells within those who believe in Christ, joining their human spirit with God’s Spirit. This transformation is explained in passages like John 1:12-13 and 1 Corinthians 6:17, showing that believers become spiritual beings through their connection to God.
